Peanut butter fudge sandwiches

I'm a pretty indecisive person (a problem that will be highlighted clearly when I try and decide on grad schools), but in the case of baking, indecision can be a good thing. Take tonight for example: I wanted to make something with peanut butter, but couldn't decide between cookies or fudge. Instead of deciding, I just combined the two into one super recipe!

This mini-TV hiatus is really getting to me. I don't watch the Olympics much anymore, not since I stopped watching figure skating a long time ago. Instead, I'm just sitting around, waiting for my shows to get back on air.

Last night, my roommate showed me the funniest thing I've seen in awhile: Twitch Plays Pokemon. If you haven't heard about it, basically, you have thousands of people attempting to play the same game of Pokemon Red/Blue at the same time. Essentially, it's a live stream of the main character walking in circles and generally just acting like a crazy person.

On Sunday, a few of my friends and I went on a cupcake tour throughout the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco. We weren't entirely sure what we were getting ourselves into, but honestly, how can you mess up walking around to bakeries and eating cupcakes?

Usually I consult Pinterest or my favorite baking blogs to get recipe inspirations, but I can go old school for ideas as well. Lately, I've been flipping through my cookbooks for recipe inspirations, marking the ones that catch my eye. Dozens and dozens of Post-it notes later, I probably have enough "to-try" recipes for the next few years, so I might as well get started, right?

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I figured it was appropriate to make something in celebration. I ended up with something chocolate, raspberry, and with hearts, so mission accomplished!

This weekend, I attended a cupcake decorating class, hosted by Kara from Kara's Cupcakes and it was seriously so much fun! I learned quite a few tips about cupcake baking and decorating that will definitely be incorporated into my future baking endeavors. I would totally do more cupcake and general baking classes if they weren't so pricey (though this cupcake decorating one was very reasonable).

This week has been pretty rough - there's not one thing that I can really pinpoint that made it bad (wait no, that's not true  - THE LAB EQUIPMENT BROKE), but it really was just an accumulation of little things that built up as the days went on. But luckily for me, baking is the perfect stress relief.

I am not the biggest sports fan in the world. In fact, when I first moved to San Francisco, I had no idea what the California sport teams were. Every year, I watch one or two football games a year. Usually, it's only the Superbowl, and especially if the Minnesota or the California teams are out, I just watch it for the commercials (excited for the Full House reunion commercial!) .
